Great time visiting the manufacturing facility of one of the sponsors of our Steel Bridge. Got too see a test of a Simpson Strong Frame and win a Jeopardy game against other schools. Simpson Strong Tie, there is no equal.

Visiting the headquarters of the Hilton Foundation was a great experience. This building is a great example of sustainable construction with net zero energy and water use with locally sourced construction materials.

A big thanks to Phil Davies and Zsolt Horvath for coming in and doing a presentation on Measure M. We received such great feedback from everyone and we hope that everyone goes out to vote yes!! on Measure M on November 8th.

Representing CSUN at the ASCE National Convention in Portland, Oregon. There were so many great sessions during the convention and can't wait for next year's convention in New Orleans, Louisiana. Congratulations to the new ASCE President Norma Jean Mattei.

In celebration of school having started, CSUN ASCE and some of the other engineering clubs hit up Dockweiler Beach for some friendly volleyball, soccer, barbeque, and of course a bonfire with smores.

CSUN ASCE members visited the Crest Steel manufacturing plant in Riverside, CA. Highlights of the tour included seeing how sheets, wide-flanged beams, angles, and bars are fabricated, how products are transported from manufacturing facilities to job sites, and how beams are cambered.

We welcomed our new members by having a BBQ at Lake Balboa and played ice breakers to get to know one another. This was the highest turnout that we've had for an event!
